For everything that was written
in the past was written to teach us,
so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)- As of December 23, 2012 there will be no CLOW until after the completion of the church renovation. Please watch for an announcement regarding the date that this liturgy will resume.

CLOW takes place during the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass each week (except for three Sundays - Easter, First Communion and Festival Weekend). CLOW is a wonderful opportunity during Sunday Mass for our 1st through 4th Grade parishioners to experience the Liturgy of the Word in a way that is appropriate to their age group at the same time that our other parishioners are celebrating the Liturgy of the Word in our church space.  CLOW takes place downstairs in the Church Hall.  When Opening Prayer at the 10:00 AM Mass is finished, the celebrant invites the children forward and, after a special blessing, the children process together downstairs to the Church Hall.  Each week they are led by a group of dedicated adult and high school volunteers in hearing the Scripture Readings and a reflection, and participating in praying the Creed and the General Intercessions.  The children then return to their families during the Offertory of the Mass. Children younger than the 1st Grade are welcome to join the other children for CLOW, but they must be accompanied by a parent.  CLOW does not take the place of Mass, it IS part of the Mass, and enables them to participate in the Mass more fully. The coordinator for this program is Mrs. Carole Ann Yeazell (385-5163).

RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Minimize
R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is the process by which non-Catholic adults learn about the Catholic Church and gradually become full members.  Initiation into any full-fledged career takes place in stages, and so it is with the Catholic Church.  R.C.I.A. is a learning and loving process in which conversion of the heart brings you to Jesus Christ, who is our Lord and Savior.

St. James Catechumens and Candidates

At this year’s Easter Vigil, the elect of St. James were lead to the saving waters of Baptism, sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Confirmation, and received the Holy Eucharist for the first time. Now it is time for them to grow in their relationship with Our Lord through active participation in the life of the Church. Welcome Jackie Bennett, Andy Swaggerty, Christa and Doug Norman, Jill Dower (daughter Jayla was baptized with her mother), Sam, Cole and Grace Hildebrand, and Ashley Koch. Please pray that others will hear the call to live life as a disciple of Christ.

Adult Faith Formation
Minimize

"Most Adults are capable of a free and informed response of faith to God's initiative of love. They have a right and a duty to bring to maturity the seed of faith sown in them by God. They have experienced the joys and challenges of life and have the capacity to question the truth and meaning of life. The catechesis of adults...is the principal form of catechesis because it is addressed to persons who have the greatest responsibilities and the capacity to live the Christian message in its fully developed form."

ReVITALizing the Domestic Church

Our archdiocese is responding to the call for a New Evangelization in light of the results of studies showing a dramatic decline in the participation of families in the life of the Church. The name of this initiative is Christ at the Center. Archbishop Schnurr has directed the offices of the Archdiocese to make available to parish families resources that will be engaging and nurturing as parents and children rediscover the centrality of Christ in the everyday life of their Catholic family. These resources are available by going to www.catholiccincinnati.org and selecting Evangelization and Catechesis under the Ministries & Offices tab.

Daily Reflections from the Catechism of the Catholic Church

There is a wonderful website that will send a short excerpt from the Catechism to you by way of a daily email. The brief reflections are a great way for busy people to grow closer to the Lord. During this Year of Faith proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI you can read the entire Catechism by way of these short emails in just one year.
